An English Oak in serious decline, it's possible I may mulch to combat water & nutrient competition. More than likely already be a lost cause.

Path side is a gonner, roots and vascular system are shot.

Currently hosting Ganoderma and Bjerkandera adusta.

1st shot show the Tree hosting Laetiporus & Fistulina last September

Just reducing weight over target for time being.

Lost cause i think next spring it will flush then die. Good habitat tree to keep cut all the boughs off:001_smile: and let the owls and bats get in them holes.

Why cut the limbs off? Just shorten over the path

Did you climb for the corronet cuts, or mewp, they look good!

David do you leave any timber with the tree or do you take it away?:001_smile:

Leave wood as either habitat piles or dead hedge where possible.

Having been encouraged by my quite excellent third place in me kids sportsday Fathers Egg & Spoon race, my confidence to get back in a harness was unstopable and I beat my demons of post arthroscopic depression.

Tried out a what is for me a relatively new climbing system today.

So I binned the Willans and blakes,:blushing: and donned the Treemotion, Tachyon, micro pulley & Howard Hitch plus 4m side strop with pulley & Vt.

Me likey :001_smile:
