Would it increase the speed ? Resulting in a bigger bounce up from the bed ?

 

No it's slowing down, the chute will only narrow and lengthen the throw, as long as your chipper has plenty of draft, if it doesn't it will block up! No stress models sometimes block if the chutes too long.

No, I have a hiab behind the cab of the lorry, so to keep it tipping I had to extend the tow bar. The bed is 12ft, so when the chips reach the body end there's quite a wide spray, meaning the chips bounce out. If I extend the length of the Shute would I get a better spray?

 

A fifth or quarter length roof may serve you well. You could still lift logs on. Make it with hinges or similar so you can open the whole roof if you are soley hauling logs.

A tarp might solve the issue - easy to remove if timber has to be put on. The best method of attachment is with ratchet stamps at the tailgate end & bungee cord along the sides & front

 

 

How do you create the rise in the middle of the tarp, at the min my plan is to use the hiab
