They're brilliant Lazarus. How does the jam chuck work. Do you need the tailstock in for that

No its just a gentle taper cut onto about 6" thick MDF so you can "jam" various diameters into it, the MDF seems to grip enough to finish I do put the tail stock up initially then remove for the final finishing of the center, If I remember I will take a couple of snaps tonight and post them for you. Also it helps get all the fruit similar sizes which always helps as they need to be similar to fit the chuck.

First attempt at a pear today. Just ran out of time to get the stalk done before my kids swimming lessons! I think it's a bit on the big side but pretty happy with the shape. And I've got a jam chuck now that takes the apple and pear. Hopefully finish it off on Sunday 43fc167b8889e3f3d6524a13dc128601.jpg
