NPTC Refresher training for sub contractor assessment and CHAS

Hi All

Just had our sub contractor assessment form bounced back to us, as all our NPTC tickets are older than 5 years. Our H&S chap has said that getting CHAS is going to be difficult without refresher training. Is this correct and if so, what's the cheapest way of going about it? We all hold 30,31,38 and 39. One of us has 41.

There are 4 of us in total.

Has anyone had similar issues and how did they find the most cost effective way to overcome?

Many thanks

You could all go and do CS32, then you refreshing your chainsaw certs and getting a new ticket.

As regards the aerial stuff, how about doing CS40, then your refreshing your climbing, aerial chainsaw use and getting another new ticket ?

That's pretty much what i was going to say! If I understand it correctly, an 'advancement' ticket kind of automatically updates all subordinate tickets - plus you have the higher skill set ticketed also.

Are you sure this is correct? If so surly you can just aim to get a new ticket or 2 every 5 years to keep on top of it all. I will be very happy if this is the case.

I'm not 100% sure, but that's how I remember it being described and how I plan to address it.

It might pay to check with a training centre (although they may have a biased interest?) or direct with FISA (ha, good luck with that!) or NPTC.

Some advancement tickets wouldn't work, like 38 wouldn't refresh 30 for example.

Ok cool. Yeah I will try and look in to in, should be refreshing all my tickets but would rather get rigging and larger fells added to my armoury if I can
