So we had a crane on site dismantling a tee and whilst it was there we got this standing dead walnut down. So it has been removed nice and carefully first big bit weighed just under 2 ton and is in 6.4 meter length it measures 85 cm diameter with heart wood 66cm diameter tapers down to a twin stem at the end roughly 50 cm diameter before the two forks

Second length is 4 meters long with a diameter of 45cm and 25cm heart wood

Open to offers

If you were this side of the country, or I had an easy (+ reasonably priced) way of getting it here, it would not still be hanging around!

Looks a fine stick.

Sorry, but I'm not about to offer you help to get rid of it.

However, I have had a chuckle because every similar thread where someone asks "Would anyone like this?" has an early response saying "If only I was on your side of the country" or "If only I was within 200 miles of you".

Imagine if you put it, for example, on Ebay and most of the responses weren't from bidders but from people saying "not interested".

I think your right it does deserve a second use. Yes it can be milled on site. I would have to be there as its at a private school so I can make sure nobody would stray to far from site. Standard policy for the school. I can help load onto a trailer or small lorry if that helps as I have a tractor with loader
