that's the sort of thing i'd love to have a go at.

 

never done one but i'm happy to have a go.

 

got loads of different species too, quite a few native species like laburnum, judas, cherry laurel, robinia, plum, burr ash, catalpa, walnut, hornbeam field maple, sumach and probably a few others i can't think of at the moment.

 

 

got a fair few exotics too, rosewoods, mahoganies, purpleheart, zebrano, pau amarello, padauk, ziricote, angelim vermelho, ipe, ebony, greenheart, cumaru, jarrah, afrormosia, makore, opepe, iroko and movingui...

Just replaced my Silky last week and see the above and just had to have ago today. Nothing to special made from Oak. Got the handle bug now. Learned a lot by making the first so next one will be a bit easier and quicker. Got the next one cut ready (Yew) for tomorrow. Oh don't make the mistake i did and use your old handle for a template for the new one as that and the sheath are different Still don't know how you put up pics but got a couple on my site.
