Various locations on an around the Balmoral estate.

Haven't got to Alladale yet.

.

Ah, Balmoral is nice, some cracking people living & working there.

Alladale is a funny place, the locals don't like him. The staff don't like him. But the tourists do! Got some interesting beasties kicking about though:thumbup:

Surprisingly little in the way of fruiting around where I was staying in Burgundy over the last couple of weeks.

here's what I understand (thanks to my handy local fungal 'over'-lord) to be Russula delicans - the Milk-white Brittlegill

Mycorrhizal on the roots of these Picea at this rural church

I'm getting there......

looks like lovely scenery, did you have a nice time, hopefully not too much rain?

do you think there may have been less fb's around because the French are more likely to be out there picking mushrooms for the dinner plate?

Fantastic time, cheers.

you raise a very interesting point.

I get the impression from talking to foragers both in France & northern Spain that they really only take what they need for their & their extended groups pots, which seems to me to be sustainable & in keeping with the lifestyle over there as opposed to here.

Like the guy in the shot below who I met in the basque.

But that's only from a relatively limited personal perspective.

It's an ongoing debate across the mycology forums.
