wow.....some amazing photos David........more!!!!!!!

I think I just about shot my load with the first four pictorals Sean, but apart from the dozens of other Fomes, Oudemansiella & Merip shots, these just about mop it up.

Psuedotrametes gibbosa - Lumpy bracket, on an axe cut stub of Beech

Emerging Meripilus giganteus fb

Sat back Beech stump with Meripilus - giant polypore

Pleurotus ostreatus - Oyster

Un-Id'd as yet :confused1:

Scleroderma citrinum - common earth ball

Phaeomarasmius erinaceus - possibly

Next two with the thin stalk is un-id'd as yet - very strong smell of garlic

& stamen of Colchicum autumnale - Autumn Crocus, which is where we get Safron.

Carpets of them everywhere :001_cool:

it really isnt suprising that fungi are so globaly spread as they are spores to begin with, if you sweep the air with a net 30 thou feet up youll catch tiny spiders so aint an issue getting a spore across continents! did you notice the crack lateral forming in the old beech pollard with fommes? shame, soon be over.

You and me is going to have to meet up for a foray next year for certain

A pictoral fungal record of a week in the Basque.

Feel free to add any interesting caps, brackets or moulds you've seen on tour :001_smile:

Oudemansiella mucida - the Porcelain Fungus

Here, all on dead/dysfunctional parts of Beech

.

Just picked up (read in Keizer) on this as also being called 'Poached Egg Gungus'

Not heard anyone call it that before. :confused1:

Anyone else?

which fungus monkey?

Can you not see the quote in my post above?

The bit which gives a little clue - Oudemansiella mucida :001_rolleyes:

Really Tony, you've been straining those eyes of yours too much trying to pick up those furry things.

Should of borrowed my hightech bat spotter, the one which we used at Stav
