say it as i see it really!  My 501 will have the exhaust tube/baffle removed and retuned as it is approx. 1500rpm below max revs apparently.  What i like is it starts easily hot or cold and is lightweight.

we ran them for a few years, had to replace a few chainbrake bits and antivibes fairly often, nice light saw, easy to start, we now have husky 550 xp and much prefer it to be honest, better vibe bit revier ( prob not a word). and feels more ergonomic. if i had a choice id go with a husky 550, but still rate the 501. i also thought the 261 was a great performer till it broke!!
