Xyz switch can be reconditioned, lots of online videos about them.

They don't need water proofing its normal the air conditioning drain that leaks on them. You need to reposition the drain or remove the aircon system.

Also the xyz switch has nothing to do with getting the 3 amigos.

You can drill the rivets out and clean it all up this does not always work though if it is to bad in there. I think new ones are silly money now they didn't used to be to bad

There is a trick to clear the contacts in the switch.

If you get the fault again try whilst stationery moving the auto stick backwards and forwards a number of times this can clear the contact surface, however won't work if the switch is totally full of water.

I wouldn't buy a new switch Id look for a second hand one or a refurbed switch.
