Took thr carb off the 170, took it to pieces, left it to soak in carb cleaner for a bit then blew it off with the air line. Started up perfectly but will have to stick the bar back on and give it a good in to see if it's cured it. Plenty of grit came out with the carb cleaner!

The blower, I can even get the bloody carb off, it's an old machine and the carb didn't even want to slide along to studs at first, eventually freed it up but there's not enough room to slide it off and I can't unhook the throttle. May have to take the plastic handle off so I'll do that when I've got more time.

Turns out the saw still does the same bloody thing! I'm running out of ideas, blocked air line?
