V6 available in the new model apparently. 224ps top spec.

Personally I'd love to see the v10 from the toureg spliced into an Amarok. Gert lush.

Interesting that Toyota have chosen not to offer the larger 2.8L engine in the new Hilux for the UK market, with only the 2.4 available across the range. Especially when over 60% of sales of the outgoing model were the larger 3.0L

Toyota 3.0 D4D consistently proved more efficient with better mpg than the 2.5 in the hilux.

Mazda and now it seems VAG have shown that to comply with dumbass emission legislation (naughty stuff excepted lol), it is not neccessary to constantly reduce cubic inches and increase BMEP. Excavator manufacturers take note! A lazy, big displacement engine will last longer, bring more happiness to the world and perhaps with less stress, chuck out less emission.

Very good on you VW. Extremely tempted having been about to jump into a Jeep GC.

I bet they come at a chunk of a price!

These emissions regs are proving quite awkward with things like the 1505 kubota engine disappearing as well as a few others meanjng a sub 750kg chipper with 30odd hp diesel isn't going to be easy.
