Not so much rubbishing them Matt, just struggling to comply with them all. It can be a pain sometimes :151:

I agree with you I dislike a lot of legislation, but there are times that this forums users just seems to rubbish evry thing as we have both witnessed in your mewp posts!

How naive.

I just think that people should be looking after themselves a bit more. If you want to climb trees with a chainsaw for a living then you need to accept a few aches and pains as time goes by. Fair enough for basic H&S regs like PPE and LOLER checks, but there is a lot of crap aswell that is just about taking money from the small business owner.

And holding a blower for 10 seconds is worse for you than not holding it at all - where do you draw the line?

Fair enough, but bear in mind the likes of school leavers entering the industry, they won't know any better and in years to come could have disabling injuries, that is less likely now as modern technology improves. People harp on aboyt the cost to small businesses but if those small businesses take time to educate their emloyees and take a few precautions it cuold save lots of time and money in future.

If I'd gone into arb straight from school I'd have probably been ok. As it is I now do a job I love but am on restricted hrs for my own health, so yes I am now looking after myself.

Yeah I sort of agree with you. I just think the vibration form, or whatever the hell it is called, sounds a bit pathetic in relation to using a blower. Blowers are only used for a few minutes at the end of the day in most cases.

sorry think you've mis understood slightly I should have explained better, we have to fill in our hrs sheet for all arb kit like blowers, pole pruners, chainsaws and tracked chipper not just blowers specifically. It takes less than 5 mins a week to fill in,

Isn't it obvious that you are going to be using one of the above for most of the day?
