stihl disc cutter strange behaviour

Not exactly an arb tool but wondered as its stihl if anyone recognises the symptoms.

 

It will start and run, some times for an hour, then its turned off for a couple mins and then wont restart, eventually it will and runs sweet as a nut until it has to be turned off again.

 

We had the local mower place clean the 'jets' and not really made any difference.

 

Any advice greatly appreciated as the brickies hate the bloody thing.

Check the fuel tank breather

Sounds like an ignition coil or just worn out piston and cylinder, as it heats up, its compression drops so wont start from hot. Needs to cool down before it can restart

thanks, sounds like exactly whats happening.

Sounds like the compression is a bit low and the heat of it running drops it below being able to start it again. Worth making sure the carb L screw isn't too lean making starting difficult but less likely to be the cause.
