Towbar on a tail-lift/tipper truck

Might be a silly question but how do you tip when there is a tail lift? I can't visualise how the chip gets past the pat the tail gate.

The tail gate slides down while in a horizontal position. It can foul the tow bar on some trucks and even the floor when pulling forward emptying on rough ground with lots of chip on.. But it saves your back when loading big lumps..

I have never really thought about tail lifts on tippers within this industry, it makes perfect sense when combined with arb trolleys or barrows. The down side on a 3.5 tonner I suppose is the loss of a bit more of the already poor payload.

I was going to take it off our truck when we first got it but really useful. We have loaded huge lumps. 4 or 5 guys can manhandle it onto the lift, then have to help the lift by lifting with it. Then slide it onto the truck. Less sawing , less sawdust. great..
