BEAL Semi static ropes

Hi mate,

The Beal ropes are superb for tree work. They're designed for industrial rope access so are incredibly hard wearing. Bear in mind that ropes are either static or dynamic so you wouldn't want to take a fall on a Beal rope. The IRATA, rescue teams and military people use these all the time so they're well tried and tested.

As long as you go for a Type - A (life support rated at 100kgs test weight), you'll have no problems with safety and insurance requirements. Hope that helps, cheers.

Thanks for the reply! good to hear they aren't gash!

Going to be using them as mainly access lines for canopy research in the jungle this summer - plan is to use it with a rope wrench - probably use an 8mm cord for the hitch as it will be 11mm.

Hello!

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with BEAL semistatic ropes? I know they are mainly industrial access but it may be what i end up having to use (11mm) for some SRT climbing.

Was literally just thinking about buying some so this has given me the shove needed to part with the pennies! :thumbup1:

I have used Beal Industrie 11mm for Access with ID / RIG and with RopeRunner.

compared to my tachyon, the Beal is more stiff and therefore not so nice to grab during ascend with RopeRunner, but in general it's working for SRT

next Time I would go for BEAL Unicore or Courant meetic
