Sorry, the above statement painted a picture of an old boy not really knowing what he was doing. Might have been a hell of a load.

the chainsaw was worth nothing to the old boy, it probably worried him that his son might even try and use it. a load of firewood is worth about 140quid. so the old boy got 140 quid for it. he got rid of something he didnt want and got something he did. i have been given umpteen saws by customers, some old and knackered some good as new, i tell them what it is worth to me, if they want to do a deal then they will. i have laods of new saws, i dont need any more but the last one i took off a guy because he was scared of it, so i knocked 50quid off the job, then i sold it to a dad from my kids nursery. for 50quid. i gave him a quick lesson and told him he could get it when he bought safety kit, he did and he has had it for about a month and hasnt used it because he is scared of it. so imight have some brand new safety kit going cheap. ha ha. i just sold my crane for a quarter of the price it was worth, i didnt see anyone offering me the full whack so i didnt get taken for a ride lol
