Pricing fencing

Pallasade comes in 2.4m sections so thats around £40 a metre? Seems cheap (i'm not familiar with the prices at all).

The yard in the photo above is mine & when i got it there was chain link fencing falling apart. The landlord put the pallasade in but i rang a few companies out of curiosity to see what it cost & that's where i got the £100 a metre from. Maybe they could tell i didn't know squat...

Should of said this price is for Concrete posts and gravel board type .:001_smile:

Well this sort of topic is more up my street as we are fencing contractors..

Some interesting prices been mentioned here.

Close board fencing for us comes in at about £35 - £40/m supplied and installed (1.8m height).

Stock fencing at £20/m, wow, we can hardly get above £7/m all in. The steel palisade figure quoted looks about right as its roughly ££40 - £60/m.

As with all these things though there are so many variables to consider with pricing- I doubt many of you guys would quote a figure for a tree crowning or full removal without actually seeing the site..:001_smile:

In the measuring software I developed, you can add in quatities per length and associated costs, would this be useful for this kind of application? strangely it is very popular for making curtains.

I suspect it would be useful- once you've got materials costs set up I can see how this would be handy for estimating. We currently use a Excel spreadsheet for this purpose.
