Where to sell Oak and other trees?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I wasn't sure which forum to post this in but decided this was probably the best. I'm not a professional Arborist, just a homeowner with some woodland. We recently bought our property and have been doing some tree clearing from the garden and now have 3 large English Oak trees (the 2 largest are probably 3-4' diameter), one American oak (smaller) and an Ash tree available. We also have a large Poplar, a Spruce and a Douglas Fir but we've been advised there is little money in this wood (cost to remove would be its value) so we'll probably just chop it up for firewood (yes, a lot of firewood!). We are in Gloucestershire but close to the Herefordshire border. All of the trees are prepped ready for felling (ie limbs removed) but we have already arranged for them to be felled when we are ready.

I'd appreciate any advice as to who might be best to contact ref selling the wood.

Id say get in touch with local firewood suppliers or/woodscraftsmen.

Depends how good the Trees are and how much you have . I'm usually interested in buying trees if the price is right.

The oaks , ash andū Douglas all have value depending on quality and access.

I'd certainly be interested in some photos. Are you intending to get them roadside?

Photos and accurate sizes woukd be great.

Thanks.

James
