I took a 026 as part payment from a job last year, old farmer had used it a couple of times then it had been under bench since, was mint with 2 chains. Been using it for a good year or so now. good old reliable saws

I rebuilt a pair of 038's afew years ago and the metal one is a lot better than the plastic magnum one and both " old knackered saws" seem better than my mates ms380,

A lot of people knock the old saws but there are some real gems out there

Ok,

The 260 starts and runs but seems to rev up and down all over the place so cutting anything is a pain.

It's had a piston (I think) but not a genuine one which was fitted at a garden machinery place along with a service. Not sure if it's easily fixed but decided to replace.

 

The 026 doesn't start, couldn't get it to fire. Been sat for at least 6months.

 

Both may be a simple fix, may be a bugger, but I don't have the knowledge or time to faf.

 

Both saws are in the Cheltenham area
