DIY throw bags

Hi,

 

just want to show you another set of my DIY throw bags.

from the right to left the weight is:

 

1. 180 gram - 6.3 ounces

2. 320 gram - 11.2 ounces

3. 320 gram - 11.2 ounces

4. 420 gram - 14.8 ounces

5. 400 gram - 14.1 ounces

 

Those two heaviest are filled with steel shot and works great with magnets.

First crash-tests passed successfully, but there are still few things to improve.

 

what do you think ?

I plan to do it in the next series, in addition it will be made of a different kind material and other thread, to be specific it will be aramid woven fabric ( with a rubber bladder inside ) and spectra thread but only if I'll be able to get needle for this kind of thread.

Yes, it's much safer for you and for the environment if the bag burst, also in addition if you are using shot with a high chromium content you do not have to worry about rust coming out of your throw bags if they get wet ( compared to regular high carbon shot ).

 

On the other hand throw bags with steel shot are much bigger than lead shot because of density of steel ( 7,87 / cm3 ) vs. lead ( 11.34 / cm3 ).

You know your stuff...what throwline do you favour?. LIROS Magic Speed is mine.

Are you happy with Liros ? never used it.

 

My favorite is Gleistein Polyethylene throw line.

It's a little bit stiff and not as as strong as Liros but really cheap and very slick, you can get it in 100 meters spools for something like 12 GBP.
