What to do next

I passed my CS38 on Tuesday, and although I would love to just jump straight into the 39 and get it done, am I going to be more employable / benefit more from getting my B+E license?

 

I think I know the answer already, but just wanted some opinions - maybe even some other ideas or options..

No, get the climbing ticket. Then the license. Plenty of people go right through an Arb career without the towing license. Even the best groundies need a climbing ticket to make their employment worth while

If you want to be more employable skip the B+E and get a C1, or better a C1+e or the full fat C+e.

 

The world and his wife has cs38,39. Being able to drive a 7.5t and >750kg chipper will set you apart.

Towing ticket is preferable than using a chainsaw off rope and harness ticket for me and many others i know.

I sent them an email last week regarding doing a bit of experience and was told they were having a reshuffle. May have to just fully apply properly.

I was thinking it would be worth getting the trailer license as my next call.

I might have to leave the 7.5t licence for now, I imagine it's a good jump in price and the 38 has broken me

7.5t license is not any less costly than a full C (rigid veh up to 32t I think) , the test is exactly the same. I paid about £750 all in when I did mine.

That's not much more than what people seem to pay for their trailer license?

I'll have to look into it, the b+e is something like £500, so not much in it at all
