Dear members, Sadly I must report the passing of Free Bird this past Wednesday along with another osprey that I was unaware of recovered 1 mile apart. The rescuer who's name was actually Bruce told me that he believed the two were related. It seems that this is very common with the Osprey species. The toxic levels can and will get the better of these fine animals. I am very sad to say the least and Kim does not know yet. I am sure we did our best to help extend what life he had left. Nature plays no favorites and our winged friends our here for so much less time than most can ever understand or appreciate.

Take care

Thanks, Jon. The baby Ospreys are hatching around the neighborhood so the parents will once again have their beeks and tallons full of food to feed the next youngins. Just the cycle of life. I can only hope the red tide starts to subside in order for this next generation to have a better chance.
