Just seen the weather in Lancashire and Cumbria looks a nightmare

We came to littleborough just up the road from hebdenbridge to spend xmas with the parents

Staying an extra night as all routes out of the village are flooded , luckily were on top of the hill watching the Kaos from above

Will get some tomorrow if I can. All dark now and more rain on its way

We're not even in an area known for flooding although we have a couple of badly thought out retail parks nearby that tend to flood about once a year.

 

Anyway, the river near us broke it's banks for the first time since before I can remember. Had some mates who's garden is up to their knees in water. Canal was so bad that a couple of foot bridges collapsed. Saw a Facebook video with a gas mains breaking and going up in flames like an action film.

 

Some family have a stream in the back yard and the entire back of their house removed for renovation. They said that one more rainfall would put the stream in their living room. Not heard from them but they're more towards Yorkshire.

Yes it is. That was at the shallower end of it all. Sky news and itn been here all day

Just back in now, been round to my mates. Not for the flood damage, but bloody looters! A mile walk from my house and still managed to get there before the police!
