No being rude but I don't think I could get away with pruning like that around here.

 

not being rude, but if you think you'd be doing something so much more appropriate could you at least provide some description and instructions.

Maybe even re upload the photo with your suggested pruning.

All you've really said is 'my work is much better than yours, but I'm not going into details'

I never suggested my work is better than anyone's, that's just the way you interpreted it!

 

Imo I would be hard pushed to get away with removing such a small amount of off a tree and leaving the customer happy after spending x amount of £££s. Most trees we work on have either had the top knocked out and there's not many options other than to remove eppi. Or are unsuitable for crown reductions. In the real world very few customers accept the less is more rule of pruning and insist on "giving I a good hair cut" be it the right or wrong thing to do, I try and let them make an informed decision about the options they have available. Not everyone can afford to throw money pruning a tree on a yearly cycle.

I can see where your coming from with that I'm lucky to have quite a few customers where money is not the consideration. He also has too much time and not enough fitness!
