261 clutch drum bearing.

took it back to the dealers and got the needle bearing fixed, they said that was the problem, hopefully it will start behaving itself .

Yea but you got to baby it . Grease it every day . I got a Husky 372 that's 10 years old and never greased it at all ! :001_smile:

Can you elaborate on the Rim V spur issue ?

 

The cause of the bearing failures is generally down to an egg shaped centre hole in a few sprockets. If the operator carries on using the saw without spotting the bearing failure , the crank will become scored and need replacing as it will continue to chew up bearings. The egg shaped hole was only found in rim sprockets so we replace all rim sprockets with spur sprockets , even from new, spurs havent been known to cause any issues. This only applies to the MS261
