Not wearing steel toecaps I guess???

Steel toe caps would of made it a lot more serious ,it would of deformed and cut all the toes meaning greater risk of infection and a operation,more time off.

Surely if the impact was so hard your toes will be mush??

They did but it didn't break the skin apart from my big toe which exploded out of the end,bone soup how it was explained to me all toes in the right place so no need to manipulate ,the leather boots I was wearing held them together in the right place.mi had a visit whilst in a and e from the head bone fixer who explained that broken skin Ie compound fracture needed cleaning to stop infection ,this involved pealing toe nails of and scraping out the wounds. Lucky for me he let the big toe go and gave me a huge dose of antibiotics.
