FS460 stripped thread on handlebar bolt assembly

Has anyone got a simple fix for replacing a stripped thread in the plastic on a stihl Brushcutter where the handlebar bolt locates?

Can you not put a bolt straight through it and put a nut on the back?

What he said^^^ but take it right off and put a longer bolt in from the inside of the base plate, the one that swivels ? Have u got a picture of it?

Yes, there is now a replacement bolt for this fault that you should be able to order from your local supplier. Part no is maybe 97990030410

That's the handlebar bolt, that's ok, its where it enters into the plastic body below.

 

I've just googled 97990030410 and that is a helicoil which would sort it thanks.

Be very careful when drilling for the helicoil there is very little meat on the insert. I do it because the blokes like the quick release but the bolt and nut makes more sense. I use 2 6mm helicoils.
