Husky 353 back firing again

I have 6 yr old 353 that was back firing , I took it to local dealer and they put a new carb and replaced the broken key on the fly wheel , its worked fine for 2 months and today BANG! .Is there a reason why this has happened again ,Its not been the easiest saw to start and the work I have done recently since the repair has been a lot of stop start (fencing) stints .

Fly wheel key gone again . Perhaps there was too much slack in the fit on the fly wheel from last time and its caused it to go again ?

The backfiring is thenflywheel key sheared, most likely cause is that it wasn't torqued down tightly enough on repair or the mating surfaces were not clean!

I think as we all know it is the taper that holds the flywheel to the crank, not the key, so i guess this is down to not tightening down to the correct torque, however i am amazed it lasted so long before slipping, also not sure why the carb was changed, lets hope its not the flywhhel again but an ignition unit fault.

Well I'm glad to see what the experience guys have said matches what I was thinking, but didn't feel confident posting. I wondered why the carb was changed and assumed that a backfire would be a sheared key.

 

Tell us what it was when you've sorted it.

My opinion on the carb is an engineer stabbing in the dark or has a spare carb on the shelf!

 

It wouldn't cause a backfire IMO
