Hi

Does anyone have any experience of using Arbortrack, Ezytreev or cloud 1 free tree survey app? or have used any other system they can recommend?

I'm looking for an easy to use intuitive system to record around 1000 veteran trees, most of them in woodland settings or deep in the countryside.

I would be grateful for any advice/recommendations.

Thanks

Hi Tor - try a quick search on here using the terms 'survey' or 'software' - should reveal a few threads. Otherwise ask any more specific questions here and I'm sure a few will contribute.

Arbortack and Ezytreev are both very good systems but they rely on maps and coordinates. If you are just going across the countryside (i.e countrywide) finding veteran trees have you thought about the system on the ancient tree forum?

Or treezilla treezilla

If you are looking at having a system for recording inspection information of 1 tree at each site, then it could be just as easy to use an access document and use GPS coordinates.

Avoid cloud1 like the plaque! I can't speak for the others, but have been using pear tech for a few years now and find it, and the customer support, superb - survey info is fully customizable too, which is very useful...

Thanks both for your replies, very useful.

I've been managing over 500 vet trees for around twelve years (we have around twenty years of management history on some of these trees) have so far been recording the information on GIS and excel spreadsheets.

I finally have some money which I can invest in a more modern/easy to use recording system, it would be great to have 20 years of management history recorded in one place.

What I really want is a system where, I can type in a tag number and up will pop a photo of the tree along will all work which has been done and work required in the future. Am I asking too much?

I'm about to inherit around another 500 trees, so really need a better system.

Thanks

Arbortrack would do what you want. Need to be computer savvy though; easy to underestimate the time for uploading all the information.I have no links with the company.
