If your Vat registered you might as well buy new. I've been looking at a large chainsaw for a while MS660 ,390xp, or 395 xp etc. A Stihl MS660 needing a piston and maybe cylinder made allmost 500 on ebay yesterday! think a lot of the bigger saws have been on mills, that's hard continuous work I would guess.Have a good google, see if there are better prices out there. Dealers arn't meant to post out Syihl chainsaws, but you can use the price to negotiate.

Hi Guys,

Been struggling to find an 880 of Ebay and such at a decent price for a while now.

My local dealer has offered me a new 880 with 48 inch bar and chain at £1260 inc vat.

This seems like a fair price, what do you guys think?

Needed for milling.

Cheers

If you want it for milling I would try to do a deal without the 48" bar. These are the Duromatic hard nosed and you want a sprocket nosed bar.

There are several options including Sugihara and GB which are cheaper and more suitable than a list price Duromatic.

Alec.
