I bought a Chinese 8 inch chipper off e bay when I couldn't hire one, thought it would do a job which would last a week, chipper lasted for 2 branches then feed roller drive shaft sheared, utter poo. Think it was a house Martin One, supposedly a professional machine.in the end bought a tp760 p to ,that was 20 years at least old.changed 2 hydraulic pipes and filter, sharpened blades and it is still working a treat after 8 years use.not bad for 900 quid.

Exactly what I thought would happen when I seen the universal drive joints on the drive roller , I have seen stronger on a Scalextric car

The owner was persuaded to buy one last year even though I begged her not to. Result it broke down 3 times in first 10 minutes then 4 times times in the next 20 minutes finishing off with spitting a blade out and hitting her in the stomach. It's now in its rightful place gathering dust in a corner. So yes they are a great investment

Not all Chinese products are junk, many are made on state of the art production lines to exacting standards. The problem is there are also sweat shops knocking out utter rubbish with unskilled labour to very poor standards in mud huts . They have not become manufacturing giants for nothing and many products we believe to be European are made there as sub assemblies. " Made in Britain" or wherever can be misleading,it may well have parts made in China within its build. Badge engineering = Caveat Emptor.

Very true , I have a 5 year old Hinari finishing mower which I have utterly used and abused which I paid £500 brand new ,still going with original belts and blades .
