I have one that's exactly one year old (bought from skyland on their Black Friday sale) apart from the awful bar that comes with it I can't fault it.

I fact I decided yesterday if i could only have one saw it would be this one due to its power and versatility (have used it for ringing up when bigger saws haven't started *cough* 550xp )

 

Yip,put a sugihara bar on it,goes like a demon.Pains me to admit it (being a stihl man for so long) but i cant fault the 540

Did that 😉 find it likes the stihl full chisel chain but rakers need to be kept down so it can bite into the wood properly

Just out of curiosity,id appreciate your opinion on this,do u think the 540 could handle a 16inch bar?
