Let's have another go. What do you think a self employed trademans minimum charge should be? Baring in mind running their own vehicle, equipment and insurance.

 

I have no idea eggs,im lucky enough to work for my LA,but maybe not for long the way the cuts are going this year,but i would say 40 quid max to do the job properly.I realise people have overheads but too me its about giving something no and again.As i said ive no problem with geniune people making s living but i know the guy would have charged me less if it was my door he chapped,he took advantage of a pensioner,if he didnt fancy it-walk away

Job wasnt quoted guy just turned up and set about the tree

 

So someone just randomly turned up, did a random bit of work, charged her £50 and she paid?

 

I stand by my bonkers observation tbh.:001_smile:

 

Seriously, £50 as a minimum fee is fair enough as already mentioned, but yes, it sounds like a poor job.
