Piranha chain and bar ?

Probably bad advice, but a quick fix on site when the drive links burr up, is to undo the bolts, slacken off the chain, tighten the bolts again then run it full throttle. Re-tighten after

Original bar or not I am now running a Sugi due to tech shite problems ...4 month old bar!!

Still get regular chain skip on a Sugi.

Yeah ok. For the price can't complain. Couple niggles, they don't seem to leave as nice a finish on small cuts as my usual Stihl chain, should arguably be using a silky for those sort of diameters though. File feels weird when sharpening, doesn't glide as smoothly as on Stihl. Wear itself seems ok though. I'd like to try one on my ground saws when they are available to see how it holds up....top handled saw very rarely gets blunt

Well I tried out the piranha chain today. I was deadwooding some large scots pine.It didn't seem too aggressive and it left a tidy cut though I think with a sharpen it will cut a little faster. Haven't tried to sharpen it yet. For less than £12 for two chains delivered seems like value for momey

Hello again, thanks for the updates on people trying the piranhas,

 

I will order some P-chains now. I'll try it with my Stihl bar and see how the bar is before buying another.

 

My MS170 chain and bar has seen limited home use, I have had it about 14 years but only use it occasionally for garden trimming, I have felled and chopped up about 3 ash trees and an old dead apple tree (wow that apple wood is hard).
