Hi Andymacp,

I have just started the long process of obtaining a bat licence to undertake commercial/domestic surveys. Join your local bat group and log all your bat hours, for example roosts visited with the bat groups licence holder dates etc. When you have gained enough experience ( this could take 18 months or more) and have a good knowledge of ecology of bats they will sign you off and deem you competent.... there is a thread on here about this subject so have a scout around.
