It will still need to be taken down when it's dead?

Think their idea i that once dead it will no longer obscure light. Not seen it so don't know if it can just fall

Some tree guys in France that I know always poison the tree before felling . They think this way is better as the tree is still actively growing and will absorb more poison ?

3 weeks later they turn up and take the tree down .

There was a thread on UKTC a few weeks back concerning preventing suckering from lateral roots on poplars. Pre-felling poisoning was discussed as the preferred option as, after felling water is still being channelled out of the stump.

I think Jules (Dalton Trees) wrote a fair bit about it IIRC
