Alpine Stump Grinder

[Highland Forestry]

Have been looking into the Alpine Magnum Stump Grinders...

Has anyone used one or had any experience with them? The look quite a capable machine and seem to produce good results...

 

Seem quite expensive though

Anfo Rocks. I set of an anfo bomb with a mate when I was 14. It's a good tale, but I wont go into the results right now

 

Matt, the Alpine is a superb piece of kit, but it has a narrow application field, namely the removal of stumps you cant get anything else up to.

 

I would'nt want to use one on a stump grinding contract.

I was thinking for use on really steep banks etc... does look a really good tool.. obviouskey not as good as some of the big grinders but it looks capable enough to get the job done..

 

Only problem is the cost... they are more expensive than I had bargained for

 

 

where on earth do you go to buy Anfo?!?

The alpine magnum is a great tool. Its quite physical to use but reasonably quick.

The teeth are easily blunted and are expensive to replace, however for back garden stumps where you can't get anything else in they're pretty good.

We get about 4 sharpens out of a tooth as long as you don't muller them. You sharpen them with a special disk on an angle grinder, Its really quick.
