You should keep changing them until they turn into a pair of distel geckos.:thumbup:

 

As for the gaffs, it's easy to cock them up, just sharpen a few times and when you've destroyed then buy a new set of gaffs.

Yes, never. You may want to replace the gaffs periodically. Or not.

I changed mine when I tried to sharpen them with a flat file and ruined them.

 

That was my question, anyone sharpen theirs?

Very very lightly with a flat file, if you take off too much you'll change the length/angle and they'll be useless. I have done it successfully, I should do mine again soon coincidentally, not been done in a decade.
