Tanaka for me at present had stihls previously, tanaka are trying to get into the professional market and offering long warranties i think it was 2 years professional use, i have used them for about 6 years in total on and off whilst being employed by other firms etc, and they get the thumbs up from me.

Do any of the tanaka, echo trimmers have long reach blades on ie 40" that also have a wide cut?

Bought some stihl trimmers hs 85 t to replace my old ageing hs85 but they are pants so we use the old hs85's most of the time. The hs86t does get a nicer finer cut but since most of the hedges we do arent regular trimmed it doesnt really matter.

The 85t is meant as a hedge trimmer whereas the 85r has a different gearing to allow for bigger material to be cut. I use the 85t for nice smart hedges that get cut annually and the 85r for ones that get done less regularly. The 85r is more universal.
