First RC Plane crash, new camera onboard...

My new actioncamera is three days old now and last evening it have first totally fail... almost..

I'm convinced that its much harder to fly RC than real planes.... based on about 90 minutes of solo Chipmunk vs small RC and quads.

 

Glad the camera survived - they are pretty sturdy these days since its just a couple of chips stuck to a bit of transparent plastic in a shell.

Maybe 20 years ago I having flight lessons too and You are right, RC planes are much harder to handle than real plane.

And that because You not feel planes moves... just try out visually think what planes do and what is planes position...

Don't suppose having the camera attached atop the plane did much for aerodynamics.

It have effect of course but actually not that much..

I had a go with one and I was alright flying away from me but when it's coming towards you things worked the wrong way round

Controls turns opposite side when plane comes towards, good way to practice that is fly 8 pattern, You stand middle of 8 pattern so You got lots of practice... I do lot of that when I was learning this hobby...

I fly R/C gliders. Discus launch gliders…( F3K )… you'll have to look on youtube to see how we launch them

 

Used to fly F3F gliders ( see Youtube )

 

Have flown power too , but prefer gliding
