Thats the plan! Hopefully itll just be a straight swap or a refund!

If they swap then you probably will have a new unit but they will put your old chain and bar on it. Don't worry about a refund the 550 is a superb saw and I know others will differ but itos the best in class by miles

My 2013 550xpg was also a pig to start from new, it took loads and loads of pulls to get it going. After a couple weeks of use it was fine. Cheers, Steve

Got back from the dealership this morning. All sorted! The mechanic gave me a fews tips, and all seems to be well for the moment. Thanks again for the help

Basically just dont use the decompression and only give the primer bulb 1 push.

 

He did have to reset the autotune as well.

I started mine exactly as suggested in the manual yet had starting issues.

I found the saw started much better after sinking it on continual full throttle into a big lump of hornbeam.

 

Cold or hot start, I never use the decompression valve.

Now running on Aspen.
