Had to collect some bedding for STMBO`s kin horses . £6.75p a pack and 48 of them on a pallet @ 18kg per pack = £324 a pallet So we have £648 for 1,728 kg`s of sawdust/shavings . I think we are all in the wrong game.

My mate use to get 50 pallets delivered tonhis yard a time for 3.75 a bale and sell from his yard for 6.75 a bale. Now HE was in the right gamr.

Try your nearest sawmill next time. Planer or peeler shavings £7 per tonne (loose load collected) at my nearest sawmill. Do exactly the same job. They have numerous other waste products that can come in useful going for next to nothing too.

That looks like its a no brainer, she gets through 4 pallets a month so a machine like that would actually pay for itself in less than a year:thumbup1:I just need to start stacking and drying some small diameter timber. Collecting from a sawmill is ok but not for the amount she gets through. Has anyone here used one of these Tonka machines?

No, but I met the owner last week on an unrelated matter, he says they can't build them fast enough.

If anyone is serious, I know a man who has a brand new shavings machine (ex demo machine with approx 200hrs on) which is designed for commercial production (tonnes per day) with variable chip thickness for pet shop contracts etc. For sale at £30k (£45k new).
