Prussic loops

As a dealer selling arb equipment the question has come up a couple of times, weather it is OK to sell ready tied prussic loops to the public ?

 

What are your views ?

i hate tying knots for other people even though i'd climb on them myself, always that nagging doubt. any climber should be able to tie a double fishermans loop anyway!

I totally agree but do you know if there is any legal implications to me tying them and selling them.

not that i know of, and cant see any reason why there would be....the rope hasnt been altered in anyway

Yes they are easy enough to tie, it is also easy enough to tell when they have'nt been tied/set properly.

 

I would personally buy a length of cord and tie it to my favoured length, on the other hand i'd have no problem with buying one ready tied.

Only thing I have seen is an ebay seller selling lengths untied with instructions (??) because he could not sell tied loops, not that ebay is anything to go by.

 

If u could sell them tied you would also have to id them for loler etc, more trouble than its worth for what you couls sell them for I would have thought.

i expect you could charge another 3-4 quid for the loops:icon14: at 20 seconds to tie, id be happy to tie em all day long!

I know what u mean Steve (but then you would have them to mark up etc), personally I get pissed of after doing a couple!

 

Who would be liable if the loop failed?
