Brush up on legislation, axiom of uniform stress, compression forks, survey equipment, grab a copy of Fungi on Trees, an Arborists field guide and learn all the colonization strategies, latin names etc.

Shigo's Modern Arboriculture is a good book to get your head in for this course.

Main thing is, ENJOY!!

A detailed specification will also be very good, for whatever recommendations you make, don't just spec Fell, go into detail, Section fell, Stump grind to a depth, Remove all arisings from site, reinstate with quality top soil, that sort of thing.

Is the fungi app enough for the id bit? Still struggling with this. Doing it next week...

Hello Island

As with the AA Fungi Guide, the Arbtalk Tree Fungi App has all the principal decay fungi that are likely to come up in the assessment.

When I did the course 7 years ago you were allowed to undertake the fungi section as an open book test, meaning you had access to resource material. Worth checking if this is still the case.

It was still the case when I did it in 2013, think it still is.
