Rabbit in a Blackbird's nest.

Old Man found this today in head of a small leaning spruce that had to be made safe. The rabbit was still warm but the chick underneath was dead, some kind of predator* hoarding food is the only reason I can think for this. * Leopards drag their catch up trees though to best my knowledge none have been recorded in central Scotland

Pine Martens and Weasels or birds of prey are more likely to have killed a rabbit and stashed it, it would hardly have been a starter for a Leopard size animal although domestic cats gone feral are known to live on rabbit.
