What are you thoughts on this saw?? Picked one up on Gumtree for £170 (2003 model) that starts, runs and cuts fine but won't tick over....took it to the mechanic and he has cleaned the carb out and few other bits and got it running mint for £70 so for £240 I think I got a good deal!!! Read about all this home owner, farm worker etc stuff online about them but do any of you use one day in day out on big stuff??? Tbh mine will be used 50-60 times at most in a year so I couldnt warrant spending a great deal more than I have! Also read there hard to work on but I said that to my mechanic and he said there easy to work on lol

Also what bar size/ chain would you recommend to get the best out the saw?? I'll get some pictures up when I get chance, cheers

I think the hard to work on bit is only if you are stripping to fit new piston and cylinder kind of jobs. A friend of mine has the 039 with a 20" bar and it seems to me it struggles a bit in thick wood but it might just be that the saw is tired.
