Can anyone tell me who the dealers are now, for what was kwik chip. I think I've dealt with someone on here, but can't remember who it was.

Are Eric Hunters still the agents for kwikchip/Tunnisen/Salean?

 

The woodruff key has worn the shaft on one of the feed rollers, so before we attempt to weld it and mill a new keyway, I could do with finding out the availability of a new roller and the cost.

I have a simular problem with my gravely chipper but in my case the actual teeth on the roller have worn very low, but to have a new one refabricated i was quoted over £700 as its a lot of time and labour to make one, and that if i remeber rightly was thorn enginering

The current people for TS woodchippers which are Quick Chip are a company called PSD or Gibsons Machinery in Colne, Lancashire. You could your old roller into a engineering company and ask them to re cut tge keyway or copy the complete thing.

Thanks Pete, Colne isn't actually far from us.

 

Regarding cutting a new keyway, it's a bit beyond that. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Luckily we have an engineering firm next door. We're considering the next step as there are a number of ways to mend it, but dependant on cost a new roller may be cost effective.

I got a new top roller for my really old kwik chip around 3 years ago, it was shipped from somewhere in Germany and was around £300! cant remember the firm name.

£300 doesn't sound too bad, considering the cost of mending ours, and still essentially having a well used roller.
