I've got a pair of thrushes, not seen many of those for years :thumbup1: Also I cut my hedge last year and found a small nest wedged in a branch. I put the branch and nest in the herb garden, thought it was interesting for the kids. Looking out of the window the other day I saw a goldfinch pulling bits out of the old nest and flying into the hedge to build a new one - think he's annoyed I moved his home!

Got a family of house martins in the eaves. There are some young in the nest at the mo - pretty noisy and poop quite a lot over the side of the nest, over the bathroom window! Seen a very busy Bullfinch in the garden looking for food. Had a nest of blue tits very low down in a honeysuckle last year. Don't think any of the chicks survived unfortunately. And plenty of bats, hopefully using the boxes I made for them a couple of years ago.

Sounds good Jon. I looked in the hedge today and my goldfinch is sitting on the nest. The kids are very excited, I had trouble getting them away from her. Shes totally pulled aprt the old nest in the herb garden and used it to build the new nest. The new nest is a couple of yards away from where the old one was. Keen to see how many baby goldfinches we have

5 young ones Jon? or 5 altogether?

My goldfinch is opposite my woodshed. I've had to stop cutting wood for the time being. I didn't want the noise to scare her off the nest.
