The "800" was as an example of what might be said from one paddlers to another. Not a direct conversion from 80,0003³ Ltrs. But if we're being pedantic:

80,000³ Ltrs. = 2825.173³ ft.

80³ ft. = 2265.348³ Ltrs.

If we're being pedantic, you're math is far off....

As a paddler I'm confused, 80cubic meters a second is enormous for a UK river. There's not many that make that.

The most paddled river in the country only averages 9cumecs. Trywryen. Canoes tend to fair better on shallower water than kayaks too...

Hi ALEX Come to the Somerset levels when we have the Dutch pump saying they will do 80 m³ a second thanks John

So far as ww canoeing goes. I've done most of mine tandem. You need a lot of water to float a tandem canoe 17+'. Especially when the other paddler is well over 20st. and you're packing gear for a week on the water.

I can't remember the exact figure, think the Olympic slalom course with 3/4 pumps is 15/20 cumecs. Zambezi was 250 when I paddled that. Ganges was around 100.

An easy visualisation is to imagine it in IBC crates.

I'd love to see the size of the pump that sends 80 cumecs. Send the pipe over to the dart in Devon!
